Sim cards and IPad    It is unfortunate that other 3G sim cards does not work with iPad. Why do they have to design it this way when in fact the other 3G sim cards also work the same way? Too bad. There’s gotta be a good explanation for this

The iPad’s micro sim
I know, right? The sim card of iPad and other sim cards actually work the same way. The ones on your mobile phone can definitely do the same work as the one in the iPad. One thing though which makes it not compatible is the fact that the iPad’s sim card is smaller than the ones used for regular mobile phones. It just would not fit. iPad’s sim card is actually a micro sim. The only way you could put your regular sim card in the iPad is if you cut its size and make it fit. Then of course, you would not want to do that because it may do more harm than good. Really, that was not a serious suggestion. Just an optinion…The way iPad has been designed makes it totally incompatible with a lot of things. It was like apple telling us iPad users that if we want to avail the benefits and all the great things that iPad has to offer, we should really avail of everything else that the iPad needs. Hence, we end up using only the ones that iPad has specially designed. Talk about good marketing and sales strategy.
I still love my iPad though.
