What to do when iPad gets wet    This is interesting…
Hopefully, none of our iPads will have to get wet soon but in case (I’m really hoping not…) I found ways on how to deal with a wet iPad. These are just some quick remedies though that will prevent great damage to your precious iPad.

We all have to be aware first that getting wet is not exactly a part of the warranty under Apple. I hope we all agree that it is completely understandable, right? So moving forward, the methods of saving your iPad from a really unwishful incident depends on how bad it was.

I hate to make it too obvious but the primary thing to do is to TURN IT OFF. No explanation needed, I guess. Just make sure that you do this as fast as you can possible do it.

To begin with, iPad is a well constructed gadget. If you define becoming wet as being splattered by your drink, more commonly, coffee, then you should not worry too much because iPad has been built to withstand that. It will only involve patting dry with a soft cloth. Most common scenario also is for it to get wet due to rain. Well, luckily, iPad is a sealed thing and rainwater will not easily penetrate through the case. Just to make sure, if the case is severe, let it dry first for a couple of hours. It would be better if you allow it to dry longer before you get tempted to turn it on again.

Now, since a lot of the tens are getting into the iPad fever, it is also not impossible to bring it along during summer getaways. If your iPad somehow ended up doing a back flip dive into the swimming pool and you found it right at the bottom of the pool, then you really need to do something to save it. Do not do resuscitation! Just tip it to one corner and have enough patience to let the water out. Keep it that way until you feel that all the water has been drained. Wipe it and let it stand for a day or two. Do not be tempted to turn it on and try out if there were further damages because there really might be one if you would insist on making it function.

Let uncooked rice do the magic! Yes, you got it right. Bury your iPad in an uncooked rice. Rice absorbs liquid and moisture effectively. Putting your iPad in it will eventually make it dry inside and out. Although, this process might take a little while. You have to leave it there for a couple of days or so.
Just do constant checking with regards to the position of the iPad. It might be a good idea too to change the rice with a fresh one after the first day for better absorption. After two days, try turning your iPad on again.

These are just things that you could do as a remedy. It is more like the first aid. Still, the best suggestion is that after doing all the methods on drying your iPad, bring it to the Apple Store for further check up especially when you notice that there has been significant change in the performance of your iPad. I am just wishing you good luck on telling your story to the people in the iPad store as to why it is malfunctioning.
